Soalan No.20 (Bertulis)

Y.B. Tuan Jimmy Wong Sze Phin [Sri Tanjong] bertanya kepada TIMBALAN KETUA MENTERI/MENTERI PEMBANGUNAN INFRASTUKTUR, adakah penurapan Jalan Kalabakan/Sapulut sudah dimulakan. Bilakah punurapan Jalan Kalabakan-Sapulut boleh dimulakan.

JAWAPAN NO.20 (BERTULIS)

Untuk makluman Ahli Yang Berhormat dari N.57 Sri Tanjong, Makmal Pengurusan Nilai (Value Management) bagi penurapan Jalan Kalabakan/Sapulut baru saja selesai. Kerja pembinaan hanya akan dimulakan setelah proses tender selesai.

Sekian, terima kasih.

Komen saya:

Do single road lane at Kung Ming school July 6, 2010

I call on the government not to acquire portion of SRJK Kung Ming land for the purpose of constructing dual carriage road but instead do a single lane in front of the school.

About 10-feet of the school’s land will be acquired if the road is to be turned into a dual carriage and the school board of directors had already stated that they will not allow the land to be acquired due to safety and health of the pupils. The school has a good reason because it has only 5-acres of land and cannot extend anymore.

The government should instead do single lane when the dual carriage road reach the school for safety and noise reason. Just like SMK Tamparuli, where the highway becomes single land as the road reach the school or the Jalan Bersatu, Kolombong-Damai bypass near the SMC Hospital.

As an assemblyman I too am against the government from acquiring the school land, as school is for public purpose and is equally important as a road development. I call on the Public Works Department (PWD) here to hold a dialogue with the school’s board of directors and also invite me. The government should be reasonable and consider the grievance of the school.

stuck I again call on the government to immediately upgrade smallholders’ road, this time at  Ulu Kalumpang, which can only be accessible by four-wheel-drive vehicles.

The smallholders have told me the road had never been upgraded since the Berjaya government time and the situation has caused smallholders who does not have a four-wheel-drive vehicle difficulty to carry out their farm activity in the area because of the bad road and mud.

Even those who owns a four-wheel-drive also finds it difficult go through the road especially during rainy season. They also have to cope with vehicle repair cost due to the very bad road.

Most of the smallholders in the area have at least 15 acres of land and have been farming the area for more than 20-years.  There are 503 farming lots in the area.bad-road

I hope the government will take immediate action to assist them as they are also taxpayers and this is where the RM50 million allocation for smallholders announced by the government could be use to help the smallholders.

At the moment the smallholders had to bear the cost to repair the roads leading to their respective plot of land. This is sad as the maintenance of road and repairs should be the government responsibility and not the smallholders.
