KOTA KINABALU: Motion to table the RM388 million state administration center was rejected and Sabah Democratic Action Party (DAP) chairman Jimmy Wong said the reason is simple everything is under Barisan Nasional (BN) thumb.
He said under the history of Malaysia and under the BN rule none of the emergency motion brought up by the opposition had ever been allowed though enormously affecting the people.
“I had high hopes that this motion would escape from being rejected,” he said disappointed.
He said he bagged his hope on the new speaker being young and dynamic speaker and wil
l break the rejection ‘taboo’.
“The speaker let the people down, he said the motion could not be allowed to be tabled and did not give any reasons,” he said.
Jimmy however said his reasons is based on the people voices and to prove his point the 628 people who clicked ‘like’ in the Facebook to show they rejected the building pla
n and an overwhelming more than 90 per cent comments in Freemalaysiatoday.com also rejecting the idea to build the administrative center.
He questioned why the government is scared to debate the matter as it is in the interest of the people.
“I don’t see it as wasting time. It is a big sum of money and the people has a right to know more whether the center is viable and benefiting to the majority of the Sabah people. The motion would allow a healthy debate for each sides to submit their views and arguments for the interest of the people. Are all the more than 50 BN Ybs scared of only one me, come on, the people and me are very disappointed,” he said.
