We are talking about in several multiple times in financial terms, although the cost of generating electricity could be free. The ideal solution should be hydro, but that would mean losing carbon absorbing trees. For rural sabah/sarawak, a friend of mine tried to sell solar/wind turbine combination, but the federal minister for rural development ( a sabahan) has no time to meet him. Meanwhile, there is a plan to build a gas power plant in Kimanis. I think, in the long run, these power plants will benefit the poor sabahan, as the state has a huge number of unemployed and very low labour rates. If there is sufficient power, I am sure there will be numereous investors queing up to invest in some labour intensive industries, especially oil and gas fabrication and others. Big problem in sabah is electricity theft. It seems that every household is doing it. Until this problem is solved, come next time when there is a need for another power plant, many will be reluctant to invest. Dear Jimmy,

This is one of the record for longest breakdown at my area. Please send my "appreciation" to SESB for letting us to experience the primitive life without electricity with mosquito biting, hot, and candle light dinner. TQ.
