I just visited the Tawau’s dump-site at Merotai to find out the problems of garbage collection. There is no denying that the bad road condition especially during rainy days causes problems to the garbage collector lorries. Due to the bad road conditions, the lorries got stuck and had to be pulled by a bulldozer. Therefore it causes serious set-back on garbage collection, where garbage could not be collected on time or at regular basis.

I urge the government to look into this matter immediately and address the problem once and for all. I also call on the government to speedily approve a new proper dumpsite for Tawau.
